周四生活杂记
Untitled, paper collage, 2026
I returned home from vacation on Monday and have not had much time to dedicate to creative work. I have, however, manage to do a little bit of many things, including collage, reading, birding, and cooking.
This post is a mix of all of those things. The collages shown here are as yet untitled. I’ve also included some quotes I’ve come across recently and/or have been reflecting on for future posts. The artwork I paired with those quotes was created by RedHeronLighthouse (https://www.etsy.com/shop/RedHeronLighthouse).
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (male)
Barred Owl. This encounter occurred several weeks ago, before I went on vacation. I’ve included three photos in this post, but I have several more, which I hope to share within the next few weeks.

I saw some beautiful sweet cherries in the grocery store yesterday, and my first thought was, “Cherry tart!” So, I brought them home and made a cherry galette (recipe here (https://lifeloveandgoodfood.com/rustic-cherry-tart/)). It’s delicious, especially served with vanilla ice cream.

Carolina Chickadee
Barred Owl
Eastern Gray Squirrel. I don’t usually photograph this bird bath because it’s not as nice looking as my other one. It’s made from a plant saucer and an old strawberry planter. It’s quite popular with the little birds, and this squirrel seemed to enjoy it on a hot day.
